{"id":8041,"date":"2026-03-27T13:24:13","date_gmt":"2026-03-27T13:24:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.osmr.ro\/?p=8041"},"modified":"2026-08-18T09:33:49","modified_gmt":"2026-08-18T09:33:49","slug":"siguranta-pacientului-prin-siguranta-medicamentului-editia-a-vii-a-24-03-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging.osmr.ro\/en\/siguranta-pacientului-prin-siguranta-medicamentului-editia-a-vii-a-24-03-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"Patient Safety through Safe Medicines \u2013 Seventh Edition, 24.03.2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"300\" data-end=\"542\">The 7th edition of the <strong data-start=\"323\" data-end=\"378\">\u201cPatient Safety through Safe Medicines\u201d Conference<\/strong>, organized by <strong>OSMR<\/strong> in partnership with the <strong>National Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of Romania (ANMDMR)<\/strong>, took place on <strong data-start=\"507\" data-end=\"527\">March 24th, 2026<\/strong>, in Bucharest.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"544\" data-end=\"904\">This year\u2019s edition marked the official launch of the national awareness campaign <strong data-start=\"626\" data-end=\"661\">\u201cFalsified medicines can kill!\u201d<\/strong>, alongside the introduction of the dedicated information platform <strong data-start=\"728\" data-end=\"756\"><a class=\"decorated-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.medicamentesigure.ro\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener\" data-start=\"730\" data-end=\"754\">www.medicamentesigure.ro<\/a><\/strong>, developed to support patients in identifying safe sources for purchasing medicines and understanding the risks associated with falsified medicines.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"951\" data-end=\"1147\">The discussions focused on the growing risks associated with falsified medicines, particularly in the online environment, and on the importance of public awareness in preventing their consumption.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1149\" data-end=\"1355\">A central point of reference was the study <strong data-start=\"1192\" data-end=\"1262\">\u201cAttitudes of the Romanian Population Towards Falsified Medicines\u201d<\/strong> (2025), which continues to highlight important gaps in public knowledge and risk perception:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1357\" data-end=\"1700\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1nxgz7\" data-start=\"1357\" data-end=\"1458\"><strong data-start=\"1359\" data-end=\"1380\">1 in 10 Romanians<\/strong> would knowingly consider using falsified medicines under certain conditions<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"mraklc\" data-start=\"1459\" data-end=\"1521\"><strong data-start=\"1461\" data-end=\"1467\">7%<\/strong> believe falsified medicines have fewer side effects<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"d7reyc\" data-start=\"1522\" data-end=\"1586\"><strong data-start=\"1524\" data-end=\"1531\">12%<\/strong> consider them more effective than original medicines<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"38tifi\" data-start=\"1587\" data-end=\"1700\">Only slightly more than half of respondents can correctly identify key characteristics of falsified medicines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1702\" data-end=\"1838\"><strong>These findings underline the need for sustained public information efforts<\/strong>, such as the campaign launched during this year\u2019s conference.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1890\" data-end=\"2033\">The conference also highlighted the evolution of the <strong data-start=\"1943\" data-end=\"1992\">National Medicines Verification System (NMVS)<\/strong>, now 7 years after becoming operational:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2035\" data-end=\"2228\">\n<li data-section-id=\"69yidg\" data-start=\"2035\" data-end=\"2097\">Over <strong data-start=\"2042\" data-end=\"2072\">3.7 billion medicine packs<\/strong> uploaded to the system<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"13eaw98\" data-start=\"2098\" data-end=\"2154\">Approximately <strong data-start=\"2114\" data-end=\"2152\">1.06 billion transactions annually<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1o251md\" data-start=\"2155\" data-end=\"2228\">A consistently low alert rate of <strong data-start=\"2190\" data-end=\"2199\">0.03%<\/strong>, below the European target<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2230\" data-end=\"2440\">The event brought together high-level representatives of national and European institutions, international organizations, and the pharmaceutical sector, who addressed the challenges posed by falsified medicines and emphasized <strong>the importance of cooperation between authorities, industry, and patients.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Conference presentation<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 7th edition of the \u201cPatient Safety through Safe Medicines\u201d Conference, organized by OSMR in partnership with the National Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of Romania (ANMDMR), took place on March 24th, 2026, in Bucharest.
